In the cool….

In the cool country air,

I met this maiden fair.

While the sky is blue – a baby blue,

Her eyes are an entirely different hue.

Moonlight is white and Sunlight is yellow,

Her radiance makes me soft and mellow.

Stars may shine and diamonds sparkle,

But none can match her smile’s dazzle.

Oh! I have tread many a mile,

Just to catch a glimpse of her smile.

The gay dancing of her tresses,

Many a tired man refreshes.

I have never seen a maiden so fair,

But like me, Oh! There are plenty to spare.
